Teachers & Subjects
Mathematics: Prof. Thomas Brixham. Mathematics: This is obvious. The human understanding of Maths hasn't changed much or improved over the years. A basic understanding for technology and mathematics is needed by everyone to understand the advanced world people now live in. Thomas Brixham: A 35 year old father of two, divorced on good terms with his wife. He sees his children routinely every summer and christmas but they understand that his job is very important, even if they don't know the truth of it. He has great respect for the university students, having never been an agent himself but a professor of maths and algebra.
Biology: Prof. Ellanor Phanes. Biology: Again this is obvious. Nothing muchhas changed about the world, nature-wise, other than the fact that there is no more o-zone. Ellanor Phanes: A young teacher of 27 who loves her subject with a passion and discipline with avengeance. A strong personality, and witty sarcastic humour encourages the students to trust and like her.
Chemistry: Prof. Kelly Johnson. Chemistry: The only thing different here from the normal chemistry lesson is that you are often encouraged to make explosives! (Under close supervision of course. A dead agent is not a useful one). Kelly Johnson: Another young tutor who is in fact an early-retired agent of the field. Specializing in explosives and bomb technology, Prof. Johnson is respected despite her young age.
Physics: Prof. Felix Walton. Physics: There is no change to this subject since the early twentieth-century. People have only been inventing ways to circumvent Physics- Physics itself hasn't changed. Ellanor Phanes: A rather elderly man of 64, Prof. Walton is one of the older retired-agents on the staff. Sharp as anything despite his sight slowly failing him, Prof. Walton holds lots of respect from the other staff if not so much from the students...
English Literature: Prof. Lisa Miller. English Literature: Hasn't changed much, aside from learning "modern" literature from the 2030s - 70s. Mostly olden literature is studied, however, as the last few decades have been good for science rather than the arts. Lisa Miller: A staff member of 38, she is, again, an ex-agent of the field but has always had a love for writing and reading, and now passes it on to those she can understand; future fellow agents.
English Language: Prof. Ian Richards. English Language: Little has changed here. It's still one of the most widely spoken languages in the world along with Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish. Therefore, it is important. Ian Richards: Prof. Richards is in his fifties and lives with his wife on the University grounds. Their children have grown up and left home and in a few months he shall become a grandfather for the first time. He likes to teach because he believes it to be one of the greatest reasons for living; passing information and a love for the subject down to people who can continue it after he's gone. He's friendly and kind, and one of the most loved teachers on the staff.
History of Art: Prof. Janet Hunt. History of Art: History of art is as similar as before. As science took over in a massive explosion of process art was forgotten, meaning that the art discussed in this lesson is the same people would know of in the 21st century. Janet Hunt: Extremely passionate about her subject, bespectacle and small, Janet Hunt is in her sixties and actually an ex-agent. She's tougher and stricted than people might think at first glance and you soon learn to get your homework in on time for this subject.
Geography: Prof. Daniel Michaels. Geography: Same as always- the continents haven't exactly moved much, and other than the fact that no soil in the world (besides in the Domes) can grow edible food, it still looks and seems exactly the same as it was a hundred years ago. Daniel Michaels: Probably one of the most boring members of staff in the school. He has a monotonous drone which is actually saying incredibly interesting and important information if you can pay attention to it. Anotehr ex-agent, he's in his fifties and gets irritated with people who don't understand what he tells them. He also doesn't understand why so many people get bored in his lessons when he believes them to be fascinating.
Politics: Prof. Hector Williams. Politics: Spies need to know the current and past events of the political world in order to blend in and gather information without causing offenses or unwanted notice. Hector Williams: The least liked member of staff in the university via a vote done several years back by the students. Prof. Williams is cagey and irritable and teachs his subject with a firm joy for the manipulative ways of the politicians of the world.
Geology: Prof. Magda Fleur. Geology: This can be an extremely useful subject if you're attacking an underground base or planning on infiltrating one on the surface via the rock. It's also important when analysing an area for potential threats- something disguised as a rock might not necessarily by one and you need to understand your scanner's analysis to know for sure. Magda Fleur: A French woman who was an agent with Janet Hunt and risked her life for the USA many times, Prof. Fleur sees her job as a step towards retirement but an important one none-the-less and teachers her students accordingly, trying to make the subject as interesting as possible...
Criminal Psychology: Prof. Leon Nickels. Criminal Psychology: Learning about the mind of criminal, getting them to start monologing, and understanding their plans are key to working out how to stop them; the most important aspect of being a secret agent. Leon Nickels: Leon is a very attractive dark haired, tanned skinned, 26 year old. Originally trained at Deveraux himself, it is inevitable that all girls entering the school fall hopelessly in love with him. Leon never gives anyone permission to use his first name but it is common for students to take it up imply because of his kind and friendly personality. It is all girls' fears that Leon will notice Professor Peterson.
Weapon Instruction: Prof. Honey Peterson. Weapon Instruction: Guns, bombs, missiles, rockets, bazookas, snipers, rifles. Any of the above and Prof. Peterson knows everything there is to know about them. Secret agents are sometimes forced to work with weapons in their immediate area- not ones they themselves own. Therefore a knowledge in all weapons is necessary. Honey Peterson: A very attractive blonde of about 24. Honey insists that people call her by her first name rather than Prof. Peterson, because otherwise it makes her feel old. It is a well known secret that any heterosexual male entering the school will fall immediately in love with her. Honey of course, never dates students. It is all boys' fears that Honey will notice Professor Nickels.
Martial Arts: Sensei. Yuki Kujita. Martial Arts: Very simply, students are learnt to recognise all martial art forms, and defend against them, while also being taught the style that best suits their frame, strength or personality. Yuki Kujita: A small man of incredible power who can put even Colonel Link on the ground. He says little and is strict with his discipline. A master in all forms of fighting, and holds a slight persona that hints that he believes any non-asian person cannot gain the true reason of martial arts.
Strategy&Tactics (S&T): Prof. Matthew Bell. Strategy&Tactics: Where agents can learn the history of tactics, and different strategies for attacking forts, open terrain, and hand-to-hand combat. It allows them to gain the ability to think on their feet in the correct, fastest way, and to ensure the most successful course of action. Matthew Bell: A man in his mid-forties, with a similar personality to Benjamin Curtis, Matthew Bell has never been married and their are rumours amung students every year as to his orientation. However, Prof. Bell never seems to notice or care to the speculation.
History of Espionage/Etiquette: Prof. Benjamin Curtis. History of Espionage: Here, students learn about the most famous and professional of all spies. They learn a little about the University's history and the main enemies that have posed threats to the USA. The theory behind this lesson is that the more you know about the past the better you can prepare for future attacks that follow similar patterns. What hasn't destroyed the school so far, has only made it stronger. Etiquette: Being able to blend into the background is a skill essential to all secret agents. For undercover situations knowing the proper etiquette is an ability needed to keep a good cover story in place. Benjamin Curtis: The Senior Tutor, of the school. Benjamin Curtis is the only member of staff aside from Colonel Link, who goes in to see the hologram computer that is John Deveraux, unless in extreme circumstances. He is a kindly, friendly man in his mid-forties, who believes in encouragement just as much as dicipline. He's a good counter weight for the strict being of Colonel Link. Was married, and has since been widowed.
Corporal Jackson Link. The millitary mind of Deveraux University. He and Benjamin Curtis work together to form the link between secret agents and the army. He is also in charge of all physical and tactical training within the school to make sure that students are appropriately trained when they work with the US Army. Though he doesn't actually teach students he does hold a position of authority and respect in the eyes of many from his large, domineering personality and frame.
